Lesbians - Lena Kunz
A few weeks ago, I participated in a project that left a deep impression on me. I showed up to a photoshoot surrounded mostly by strangers, brought together for a single frame.

What stood out to me about Lena’s approach is that the community didn't exist before we walked into the park. It was built in that very moment. Standing alongside other lesbians, there was a shared understanding of how rare and necessary these visual spaces are. Photography so often claims to just "capture" what’s already there, but being part of this made me realize how a photo can actually construct a new reality, giving shape and presence to something that usually remains hidden in plain sight.

Lena carried out this project across different cities in Germany, photographing people from diverse backgrounds and ages.
The exhibition was so warm and intimate, and seeing the final work brought to life as large-format prints is incredible.
From my personal perspective, visibility plays a fundamental role in shaping identity. In this case, it felt especially powerful to see it presented as cornerstone for building a sense of community, something that resonates deeply with me as both a queer and migrant person.
When reality filters through the lens: On a personal note, thanks to Lena’s work I had the chance to connect with a wonderful group of people and build meaningful friendships that gave me a genuine sense of community and belonging.
